01What these terms cover
An add-on is something an organiser sells alongside an entry to their event: a technical tee, a medal engraving, an extra finisher photo pack, a pasta-night ticket, a shuttle-bus seat. You can buy add-ons while you enter, or later from your race page while entries are open.
These terms cover that purchase. They sit under the Terms of Use and, for the entry itself, the Participant Terms, which remain the document for entries, refunds of entries, and transfers.
02Who you are buying from
The organiser is the seller. AnyRun is the marketplace. The organiser lists the item, sets its price and description, holds the stock, and delivers or hands it over. AnyRun (the Platform) provides the listing and checkout, and collects payment as the organiser's agent for that purpose. The contract of sale for the goods is between you and the organiser.
It decides real things. The organiser owes you the consumer guarantees on the goods. The organiser is responsible for the item being accurately described, safe, and lawful to sell, and for meeting the product safety and information standards that apply to it. The organiser is who a faulty-goods remedy comes from.
What AnyRun is responsible for is the Platform: showing the item and its price as charged, processing your payment, recording your purchase, and showing you its fulfilment status. If we get any of that wrong, that is ours.
Where AnyRun is itself the supplier of something you buy (the platform service, and our own fee) the guarantees on that service are ours, and the Terms of Use covers it.
03Price, GST and the platform fee
- All prices are in Australian dollars. An organiser's entry and add-on prices include GST where GST applies to that organiser. The AnyRun platform fee is stated ex GST and GST is added to it as its own line. The total shown at checkout is the total charged; nothing is added afterwards.
- The platform fee is itemised before you pay, on the same screen as the price, with who pays it stated. It is charged once for the whole cart.
- The platform fee and its GST are not refundable, and an organiser cannot refund them: their refund tools are capped at the item price. The fee pays for the service already delivered at purchase time. Both are shown with this rule beside them, so you see them before you pay. A refund therefore returns the item price: on a A$22.17 payment for a A$20.00 entry, A$20.00 comes back, and the A$1.97 fee and its A$0.20 GST stay with AnyRun. What happens when an event does not go ahead is set out under cancellation, below.
- Stock is finite and checked at purchase. An add-on with limited stock can sell out between adding it to your cart and paying; if it does, the purchase fails cleanly and you are not charged for it.
- Genuine pricing errors. If an add-on is listed at an obviously wrong price (a decimal in the wrong place) the organiser or AnyRun may cancel the order and refund you in full. We will not use this to walk away from a price we regret.
04Getting your add-on: shipping and collection
Every add-on has a fulfilment mode, shown on the item before you buy and again on your race page afterwards. There are two:
- Collect at the event. The default for running events. The organiser states where and when (the marquee, the bib pickup, the gear tent) and you collect it there. If you do not attend, what happens to an uncollected item is the organiser's policy: ask them before race day.
- Shipped. The organiser posts it to the address you give. The organiser states the delivery timeframe on the item. Where no timeframe is stated, the Australian Consumer Law's standard applies: supply within a reasonable time. Risk in a shipped item passes to you on delivery.
You can see where it is. Each item you buy carries a fulfilment status you can check on your race page (being prepared, then shipped or collected) and the organiser updates it. A status change is notified to you. A status is the organiser's statement about their own item; AnyRun records and displays it, and does not verify it independently.
Address accuracy is yours. Give a delivery address you can actually receive post at, and tell the organiser promptly if it changes before dispatch.
05Your consumer guarantees, which nothing here can remove
When you buy goods as a consumer in Australia, the Australian Consumer Law gives you automatic guarantees. Among them, goods must be of acceptable quality, must match their description and any sample or demonstration, must be fit for any purpose you made known, and must come with clear title.
These guarantees cannot be excluded, restricted or modified by these terms, by an organiser's policy, by a "no refunds" sign on an event page, or by anything you tick at checkout. Any term that tries to do so has no effect.
Consumer guarantees are separate from, and additional to, any warranty or goodwill policy an organiser offers. A generous organiser policy is a bonus, and it does not replace them.
06If something is faulty, wrong or does not arrive
Start with the organiser: they are the seller, and the remedy is theirs to provide. Their contact email is on the event page and on your order. Tell them what is wrong and what you want.
- Minor problem: the organiser may choose to repair, replace or refund. That choice is the seller's.
- Major failure: the choice becomes yours (a refund or an identical replacement) and you may also claim compensation for other reasonably foreseeable loss. A failure is major where the goods are unsafe, are substantially unfit for their normal purpose and can't easily be made fit, differ significantly from their description, or where you would not have bought them had you known.
- Did not arrive: if a shipped item does not turn up within the stated or a reasonable time, the guarantee of supply within a reasonable time has been broken and you can ask for a refund.
- Wrong item, or not as described: that is a breach of the description guarantee: you do not have to keep it.
If the organiser will not engage, come to us. Email support@anyrun.net with the event and your order reference. We are not the seller and we cannot decide the dispute, but we hold the order and payment record, we will put it in front of the organiser, and a pattern of unresolved complaints is grounds for us to stop that organiser selling goods here. You also have the option of your state or territory consumer affairs body, or the ACCC, at any time.
07Changing your mind, sizes, and cancelled events
Change of mind is not a consumer guarantee. If the item is exactly what was described and works, whether you can return it is the organiser's refund policy, published on the event and shown at checkout. Many organisers order merchandise to the number sold and cannot absorb returns; read the policy before you buy the extra-large.
Sizes. Where an add-on comes in sizes, the organiser publishes a size guide or its equivalent. An item that matches the size you chose and the guide shown is not faulty because it does not fit the way you hoped. An item that does not match the description you were given is a different matter, and the section above applies.
If the event is cancelled. An add-on you did not receive for an event that did not happen is refundable, and the platform opens a refund request path in your account when a cancellation is recorded, regardless of what the event's refund policy says. Where the organiser has already shipped and you have received the goods, the item itself was supplied and the outcome depends on what was actually delivered.
08What the organiser must do to sell here
An organiser listing goods on AnyRun agrees that they will:
- Describe the item truthfully: what it is, what it is made of where that matters, what sizes exist, and what the buyer actually receives. No misleading or deceptive descriptions, and no claims they cannot substantiate.
- Sell only what they are lawfully entitled to sell: goods they own or are authorised to supply, with any trade marks, artwork and licensed imagery cleared, and nothing that infringes anyone's rights.
- Meet the product safety and information standards that apply to the goods, including mandatory safety and information standards, and keep goods subject to a ban or recall off the Platform.
- State the fulfilment mode exactly, including a real collection place and window or a real delivery timeframe, and keep the fulfilment status of each sold item current.
- Honour the consumer guarantees and their own published refund policy, and deal with buyers in good faith.
- Account for GST on their own sales where they are registered, and keep the records that requires.
Where an event carries its own pre-generated goods terms (an organiser-accepted document scoped to that event) those terms sit alongside this one and are shown to you at checkout. Where the two conflict on a point that benefits you, the more generous applies.
09What AnyRun will and won't do
We will remove listings. Where we reasonably suspect an add-on is unlawful, unsafe, misdescribed, infringing, or otherwise unfit to be sold beside a community event, we may remove the listing, stop further sales, and, for serious or repeated cases, stop that organiser selling goods on the Platform. We tell the organiser why and they can ask us to review it.
We will not adjudicate your dispute with an organiser. We are not the seller, we do not inspect goods, and we do not hold the stock. What we hold is the record: the listing as it read, the price you paid, the order, and the fulfilment history. We will provide that and press for a resolution.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, AnyRun is not liable for the goods themselves (their quality, safety, description, delivery or fitness) because we do not supply them. This does not limit our liability for the Platform service we do supply, and nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee or other right you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded.
10Changes, governing law and contact
A material change to these terms bumps the version (currently 2026-09) and the effective date above, and applies to purchases made after it takes effect. Something you have already bought keeps the version it was bought under.
These terms are governed by the laws of South Australia, Australia. Questions about an add-on you bought: the organiser first, then support@anyrun.net. AnyRun is a registered Australian business name, based in South Australia. ABN 90 374 636 715. Post: PO Box 717, Happy Valley SA 5159.
